Each year the Victorian Society release a list of the ten Victorian and Edwardian buildings most at risk of ruin in England and Wales.And among this year's list is the Ex-Prudential Assurance Company Offices in Oldham, known as 'The Pru' which was designed by Waterhouse, the master of the Victorian gothic revival style who is best known for designing Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum.The Prudential Assurance Company was wildly successful in the second half of the 19th Century and it commissioned offices for many of Britain’s newly wealthy industrial cities.Waterhouse, born in.
