When Simon Renshaw was told he would be too big to ride a theme park rollercoaster, he laughed it off. But deep down, he knew something had to change.

The 34-year-old piled on the pounds as a teenager after he stopped playing rugby and started eating takeaways four times a week.

During an average day, he would gorge on two bacon and sausage butties, a sugary drink, three bags of crisps, chocolate and cake Then, he would head home for his tea and more snacks.

His unhealthy lifestyle meant the warehouse manager, from Failsworth, always felt tired and would often struggle in hot weather.
