'Human remains' found in London park as police cordon off scene

Human remains are understood to have been found in a park in London. Police were called to the park in Croydon shortly after 9am on Tuesday, April 2.

It is not clear who made the grim discovery. Pictures from the scene at Rowdown Fields in New Addington show a cordon in place and a large police presence.

The remains will now be sent for analysis, the Mirror reports.Detectives said an investigation was underway and asked people not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the incident.Met Police Superintendent Lewis Collins said: “We are aware of the concerns within the local community following the discovery of possible human remains in the Croydon area this morning.
