Helen George, known for her role as Trixie Franklin in the BBC drama series Call The Midwife, has shared some exciting details about the show's Christmas special and revealed she will be taking on a completely different role in the New Year.The much-loved series, which has been warming our hearts every winter since 2012, is set to return this festive season with more stories from the nurses and nuns of Nonnatus House.The Christmas Special will kick off two weeks before Christmas with Apollo 8 ready to circle the moon and Sister Monica Joan fears this could be her last Christmas and doubts she'll live to see man walk on the moon.

In response, the Nonnatus Family, including Trixie's brother Geoffrey, decide to lift her spirits. The story continues with Nancy deciding to stay at Nonnatus House, where Sister Julienne offers her and Colette a room.

Meanwhile, newly-weds Trixie and Matthew are preparing for their first Christmas together when they receive an unexpected visit from her brother Geoffrey just days before Christmas.

Chatting with the Manchester Evening News, Helen shared: "It's lovely that Call The Midwife has become part of the TV menu.This is Matthew and Trixie's first Christmas together with Jonty [Matthew's toddler son from his first marriage] as a family following their wedding, so it's special as they are really coming together as a unit.Trixie's brother is back, too, and it was so much fun to continue that story.
