As temperatures soar to 25C in some parts of the country this weekend, a charity has warned that rising pollen levels could leave people at risk of life-threatening asthma attacks.

The pollen count is forecast to hit high levels across most of England and Wales on Friday and Saturday (14 May) as the temperature gets warmer and the sun makes an appearance.

Medium levels are predicted for other parts of the UK. But Asthma and Lung UK has said more than three million people who have lung conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are at risk of attacks or flare-ups.

The charity is telling people to ensure they keep on taking their preventer inhalers if they use them and to keep their reliever inhaler with them at all times.
