Harry Maguire has praised Gareth Southgate for the job he has done as England manager, pointing out his man-management skills in particular.

The former defender has been in charge of the Three Lions since taking over from Sam Allardyce in 2016. He led England to their first World Cup semi-final since 1990 in 2018, and their first major final since 1966 in Euro 2020, where they lost out to Italy at Wembley.

Southgate is out of contract in December, but the FA are keen for the manager to extend that. He is also said to be in the frame to take over from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford, if United decide to part ways with the Dutchman.

A decision is yet to be made on the under-pressure manager.
