Gus MacPherson has been sacked as Morton manager after a 2-2 draw with Ayr United. The 53-year-old has been relieved of his duties after the stalemate with the Honest Men that leaves Ton level on points with Dunfermline and Queen of the South in the bottom three places of the Championship.

Former St Mirren boss MacPherson, 53, was appointed in March and led the club to safety in the play-off final against Airdrieonians.
