Girls’ Christopher Owens announces new solo album ‘I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair’

Girls’ Christopher Owens has announced his new solo album ‘I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair’ marking his first LP in nine years.The new LP is set for release on October 18 via True Panther Records (Girls, King Krule, Grace Ives) and you can pre-order / presave it here. ‘I Wanna Run Barefoot Through Your Hair’ was co-produced by Owens and longtime collaborator Doug Boehm (Girls, French Kicks, Twin Peaks) in various San Francisco studios.Along with the announcement of the album, Owens also shared his new single ‘No Good’.

The track features a Jangly guitar rock sound with lyrics such as: “No, not another love song / Not one more song where I’m pretending / Everything will be okay / I died the day you left me,” describing a vulnerable and less optimistic place.The song also came with a video directed by filmmaker Rebekah Sherman-Myntti which sees the singer performing the track acoustically with a 12-string guitar in an empty office space.‘No Good’ follows Owen’s previously released single ‘I Think About Heaven’.
