Margot Robbie is co-producing a stage musical for the first time and the show’s star and creator Marla Mindelle is explaining how the collaboration happened!

The acclaimed actress and writer, who previously created the hit show Titanique, participated in a press day for her new musical The Big Gay Jamboree on Tuesday (September 12) at the Orpheum Theatre in New York City. Marla was joined at the event by co-stars Alex Moffat, Constantine Rousouli, Paris Nix, and Natalie Walker, as well as director and choreographer Connor Gallagher, and co-writers Jonathan Parks-Ramage and Philip Drennen.

The Big Gay Jamboree centers on Stacey (Mindelle), who after blacking out from 18 Jägerbombs, wakes up hungover in the most terrifying place of all: an Off-Broadway musical.

With no memory of how she got there, Stacey is forced to put her BFA in theater to use, belt her face off, and figure out how the hell she’s gonna escape this 1940′s golden age musical…while a live audience watches.
