Furious brides have hit out at an Ayrshire hotel after their wedding venue was given a “tasteless” makeover. The Brig O’ Doon House hotel, in Alloway, has undergone major renovations in a bid to modernise its interior after it was bought over by the RAD Hotel Group.Hotel management provided bridal parties with pictures of their plans to revamp their ballroom last year.

Visual images showed clean white walls, neutral fabrics and classic lighting illuminating the grand room, but the unveiled refurbishment sparked backlash from stunned brides-to-be who slammed the finished work as “totally unrecongnisable”.Ayrshire couple Tasha Burton, 29, and partner Liam Scott, 32, booked their wedding in October last year after falling in love with the “bright and airy” style shown in computer generated pictures.Tasha, who is due to wed on August 27 told the Record: “I’m not happy at all.

They have promised us one thing and delivered something totally unrecognisable. It’s tasteless.“We wouldn’t have booked our wedding if we knew it would look the way it does now. “It really doesn’t fill me with confidence about them handling my wedding now.”New images of the renovations show a dark hunting lodge style room with patterned wallpaper, brown wood and luminous pink lighting.Tasha added: “If they don’t put this right, I’ll be looking for a partial refund.

We can’t cancel and our invites have gone out. “I’m disappointed that we are now stuck with a venue we don’t like.”Brig O’ Doon House has received more than 300 comments from fuming brides after posting pictures of the updated work on their social media page.
