Friends of diehard Rangers fan hand over £6000 cheque to Lanarkshire charity set up to honour Lisbon Lion legend granddad

A group of friends took on a walking challenge stopping off a both Celtic Park and Ibrox Stadium to raise money for charity in memory of a young Lanarkshire man.They may not have walked a “million miles” as the football chant goes, but they did manage a fantastic 40 miles – partly on the West Highland Way – raising an incredible £18,000.The group organised the sponsored walk in memory of Matthew McCombe, the grandson of Celtic’s legendary European Cup winning captain Billy McNeill.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
