Free allotment gardening sessions at Dobbies Sandyholm

A Lanarkshire garden centre is running a series of free workshops focusing on allotment gardening to celebrate next month’s National Allotment Week.Dobbies Sandyholm will be running two sets of weekly Grow How sessions helping participants learn more about the best crops to sow in late summer, pruning summer fruits and watering techniques to get the garden ready for holiday periods.Workshop visitors will also be invited to donate to partner charity The Stroke Association, with Dobbies saying: “Gardening is known to have a positive impact on the physical and emotional recovery of stroke survivors, and the charity supports several groups with allotments across the UK.”The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
