Philippe Clement has pleaded with Rangers’ stay-away fans to return to Hampden and back his team.The Belgian boss guided them into the quarter-finals of the Premier Sports Cup with a 2-0 victory over St Johnstone.
But it was played in front of a crowd of less than 25,000, with the national stadium only half-full.Punters voted with their feet after Gers crashed out of the Champions League in midweek at the hands of Dynamo Kyiv.
But at the end of the win - thanks to goals from Cyriel Dessers and Ross McCausland - Clement led his players behind the goal to salute their Ultras group The Union Bears.
And he says he hopes the supporters who didn’t turn up at their temporary home will return for next week’s Premiership clash with Ross County.
