An inquest into the death of former gangland figure Dave Courtney found he took his own life months after another attempt.The reformed gangster shot himself three months after he tried to commit suicide, the inquest at Inner London South Coroner's Court heard.
On that occasion, the 64-year-old had recorded a five-minute video explaining his plan, according to The Mirror.Courtney had been battling cancer and dealing with severe pain due to arthritis before his passing.The Charlton FC die-hard had been watching his team beat Reading 4-0 the day before he died.
He was described as being 'happy and chirpy' at the game, which he attended with two pals.He had posted a picture to social media from the match, which he watched from a hospitality section at The Valley stadium, describing it as a 'cool, cool day'.At 3.52pm on Saturday October 21, he wrote on Facebook: "At Charlton today.
Full works today three course meal and our man James company is sponsor for the game .... and what a cool cool day it's all turning out to be."The group then returned to the deceased's home after the game to watch England play a rugby World Cup semi-final against South Africa.
