Estate agents reopen as the housing market set to restart

New rules put place by the UK government will allow house moves and viewings to return from today - but only in England. Yesterday saw the extension of the coronavirus furlough scheme up until October - but the housing market is among a collection of sectors that have been given the greet light to resume.

Throughout lockdown, buyers and renters had been urged to delay any potential move. The government estimated around closed to half a million moves had been affected, which equates to a total monetary value of £82bn.

Now, under newly instated regulations, estate and letting agents are being allowed to reopen with Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick saying those that "waited patiently to move can now do so".
