Erling Haaland was reportedly forced to contact Brazilian side Fluminense on Monday night to question why he had been announced as their new signing.

The Manchester City striker is enjoying some well deserved down time after firing the Blues to a fourth successive Premier League title.

He is under contract at City until 2027 and has scored 90 goals with 15 assists in 98 appearances for the club. However, on Monday, an article on Fluminense's website claimed that Haaland was making the shock switch to Brazil 'after intense negotiations and a great effort from our board'.

The article added that his signing 'will be a decisive milestone in the turnaround of our season.'
