Edinburgh to protest against existing ones linked with the country’s role in the slave trade.Activists erected new names for streets and buildings in the capital along with “call to action” signs urging that racism is tackled.Dundas Street - named after Henry Dundas who is best known for delaying the abolition of slavery in 1792 - was renamed Emancipation Street.A sign reading 'Teach Colonial History' was installed at James Gillespie High School and another with 'Honour Black Lives' at Regent Terrace.Gillespie made his fortune selling Virginia tobacco which came to Scotland from slave plantations and left money for the school to be founded.Queensberry House - a 17th century building which was incorporated into the Scottish Parliament.
