One day on since EastEnders fans were treated to an explosive blast from the past when Cindy Beale was revealed to be alive and kicking, 25 years after she had reportedly died in prison, soap fans were treated to a second dose of nostalgia on Thursday night, when Peter Beale and Lauren Branning also made an unexpected return to the Square.

As regular viewers will know, Cindy was revealed to be the mysterious Rose Knight on Wednesday, after Phil Mitchell had enlisted the help of his brief to try and track down George Knight’s mystery wife.

Yet while the former Londoner wasn’t revealed to be living in Walford, she was shown sipping on a glass of wine beside a swimming pool while enjoying a life of luxury abroad at the conclusion of the nail biting episode.

Picking up where things left off, on Thursday’s instalment of the BBC soap, fans were left feeling more than a little gobsmacked when Cindy was revealed to be living with her ex-husband Ian Beale along with her son Peter and grandson Louie.
