On the back of a great treble winning season for EKRR, it was a case of the old breed handing over to the new when a 51-year goal scoring record set by Rolly legend Frank Stellard was broken this year by striker Jonny Diack.Frank managed to score 45 goals in the 1972/72 season for the amateur outfit and that stood as the club record until former EKFC and EK Thistle striker Jonny Diack came along this term to break that feat by a solitary strike.The Rolly won the Greater Glasgow Premier League title, President’s League Cup and Bobby Thomson Challenge Cup to notch a first treble in the club’s 70-year history.And this week, The Rolly scoring sensations met as Frank congratulated Jonny on surpassing his record.Asked about how he felt seeing his 45-goal record beaten, Frank said: “We’ve had great players through the ranks over the years, but in my opinion the current squad are the most successful team in the history of the club.“I was glad to see Jonny beating my record this season, everyone was getting bored with me rabbiting on about the number of goals the Rolly have scored this season so it was inevitable the record could be beaten.“It couldn’t have gone to a nicer guy than Jonny and, who knows, he might even beat his own record in the coming years.”Diack said: “Frank has held the top goal scoring record for all those years, yet he was the first person to congratulate me when I scored the 46th goal to take the record.“It shows what a great man he is, and I’d hope that I’ll be the same if the record is taken from me.“Although I get the plaudits for the record it is only because of the team around me, who created those chances, that I was able to do this.Frank joined the Rolly in 1971 from Clyde United after having moved to
