New data from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) indicates that 7 million people were on Universal Credit at the end of July.
Universal Credit is typically paid monthly - but can be dispersed fortnightly to some individuals living in Scotland. What might not be common knowledge to many recipients, however, is that specific changes in situations must be reported to the DWP.
This obligation is crucial as failure to do so may affect claimants' entitlements, payments, and could potentially result in fines or court appearances.
The types of changes required to be reported include changing your mobile number or email address, altering bank details, moving house, or experiencing changes in rent.
