DVLA has reminded elderly motorists that their driving licence must be renewed every three years. Those who are over the age of 70 - or if you turn 70 within the next 90 days - can do this for free on the DVLA website.
But, in order to renew your licence online, there are a couple of different criteria that you have to meet. The DVLA has outlined these on its website, and recently posted a reminder to Twitter.
The tweet read: "After you turn 70, you need to renew your licence every 3 years. It’s easy, quick and secure to do it online", followed by a link to the online service.
Before you can start the process of renewing your licence online, the DVLA states that you must be aged 70 or over, or will have your 70th birthday in the next 90 days.It also says that you can renew online if:After you hit the age of 70, your licence has to be renewed every three years.
