Dog walkers, beware! You could be slapped with a fine of up to £1,000 this summer. An expert from Kingdom Local Authority Support (LAS) has issued a stern warning to dog owners about the risk of hefty fines if they walk their pets in certain areas.

With summer on the horizon, more councils are putting Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) into action to tackle the rise in dog fouling in public spaces and stop pet owners from taking their dogs to some beaches.

Holidaymakers who aren't clued up on local dog control laws could find themselves facing a hefty fine. Areas where these bans are being enforced include Norfolk, Sussex, Devon and Cornwall.

Restrictions on where dogs can be walked are popping up across beaches and promenades, with potential fines of up to £1,000 for those who don't comply. These measures are often put in place to protect local wildlife, but they can cause confusion for unsuspecting staycationers, reports the Mirror.
