Disqualified Lanarkshire joyrider dodges jail after high speed cop chase whilst kids were in the car

A Lanarkshire driver who had two young children on board during a high speed police chase has been fined more than £1000.Robert Brown, of Faulkner Drive, East Kilbride, was also banned from driving for 18 months, but he avoided a prison sentence at Hamilton Sheriff Court.The 27-year-old, who was disqualified from driving at the time, veered on to the wrong side of the road as he tried to get away from the police on September 24, 2020.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Following the police chase, Lanarkshire Live told how Newhousemill Road residents had been woken by a commotion at 8am. They witnessed Brown being taken to the ground when the chase ended.One resident said that at least a dozen police officers were involved.Another said: "The police didn't have an easy time of it and did well to eventually get the man on the ground."Bro
