Disposable vapes to be banned in England 'to protect children’s health'

Disposable vapes WILL be banned in England under new measures designed to tackle the rise in young people vaping, the government has said.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is set to implement the ban, which is expected to come into force at the end of 2024 or the start of 2025, using already existing powers under the Environmental Protection Act.

He will announce the ban formally during a school visit on Monday. It comes after the government launched a consultation on smoking and vaping in October last year.

Other measures announced have included new powers to restrict flavours which are marketed at children, and £100 fines for shops in England and Wales which sell vapes illegally to children. Try MEN Premium now for FREE...
