'Deadpool & Wolverine' Launches Awards Campaigns, Category Submissions Revealed

The action-comedy, which of course stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the lead roles, has launched campaigns for submissions at the major awards shows, with the categories being revealed for the actors and more. Keep reading to find out more… Ryan will be submitted for Lead Actor in a comedy or musical for his performance as Wade Wilson/Deadpool at the upcoming Golden Globes in January, while Hugh will be submitted in the supporting actor category at the Oscars, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild Awards and Critics Choice Awards, Variety reveals.
At the Golden Globes, Deadpool & Wolverine is likely a shoe-in for the new Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category, which was introduced this past year.
Barbie won the inaguraul award. To be considered for this award, a film must gross at least $150 million, with $100 million of that in the US, or “achieve comparable digital streaming viewership figures recognized by industry standards.” The Marvel movie has grossed $627.5 million at the domestic box office so far, and over $1.318 billion at the global box office.
