Crowds flock to Pitlochry as top acts entertain during first-ever Heartland Festival

Thousands of music fans flocked to Highland Perthshire to enjoy performances by a whole host of stellar acts during the inaugural Heartland Festival.Held on the Recreation Ground in Pitlochry over the weekend of June 29 and 30, organisers have said just under 8000 people enjoyed sets from the likes of top acts The View, Idlewild, Tide Lines, Nina Nesbitt and many more.In addition to the Main Stage, the Discovery Stage saw 13 up- and-coming local artists being given the chance to enjoy a deserved spell in the spotlight.There was a real family feel to the weekend, with those in attendance ranging in age from just eight weeks to 81 years old.And thanks were expressed to the army of local volunteers, who gave up their time to pitch in and ensure the weekend ran smoothly.Marketing manager Simon Clark said: “There was such an amazing buzz and vibe around Pitlochry across both days.“Everyone appeared to have an amazing time and it was great to put something together for the community and for music-lovers in Scotland.“Months and months in the planning has paid off, with the sheer excitement of this being an annual event plus all of the amazing feedback.“A special note of thanks must go to our amazing team of volunteers who stepped up and gave so much of their time to help make this festival so successful.”Details of a potential return for the festival in 2025 are to be announced in due course.
