But it will help. A densely plotted 180-minute opus about “the father of the atomic bomb” that unfolds via a non-linear narrative, this is the ultimate thinking person’s summer film.

And while viewers will no doubt find parts of it confounding and convoluted, there’s a richly rewarding payoff. FYI, that is not a reference to the actual nuclear explosion.Of course, this is all de rigueur for writer-director Christopher Nolan.
