Car bursts into flames on major Ayrshire road as mercy crews race to inferno

Emergency services raced to a blazing car on one of Ayrshire's busiest roads.Police and fire crews were scrambled to the A70 near Ochiltree to reports of the motor inferno just before 2.30pm yesterday afternoon.A video circulating on social media shows flames roaring from the car as a stream of thick, black smoke obscures the sky.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.27pm on Monday, September 12 to a report of a car alight on the A70 near Ochiltree."Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene where the crew extinguished the fire and made the area safe." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to reports of a vehicle on fire on the A70 near Ochiltree at around 2.30pm on Monday, September 12, 2022.“Emergency services attended and officers assisted with traffic management.“The vehicle has since been recovered and the road was opened around 3.40 pm.” For the latest news and breaking news visit our website.
