Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.

Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.

After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Lewis Capaldi (born 7 October 1996) is a Scottish singer-songwriter. He was nominated for the Critics' Choice Award at the 2019 Brit Awards. In March 2019, his single "Someone You Loved" topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in October 2019 it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. On 17 May 2019 he released his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which remained at the top of the UK Albums Chart for six weeks.

Capitol Records Ups Arjun Pulijal to SVP of Marketing

Previously vp of marketing for the label since 2017, in his new position, Pulijal will lead the department and oversee all campaigns for the Capitol roster, which includes Katy Perry, Sam Smith, Migos and Lewis Capaldi.

He’ll remain based out of the company’s Capitol Tower headquarters in Hollywood.Among the campaigns for which he’s credited are: Paul McCartney’s “Egypt Station” in 2018, marking the legendary solo artist’s first No.

1 album debut, as well as Beck’s “Morning Phase” album which won five Grammy Awards, including album of the year in 2015, and 2017’s Grammy-winning “Colors,” and Arcade Fire’s.
