The cast of Call the Midwife are back on set, filming for the upcoming series which will see our favourite characters stepping into the 1970s.The much-loved show - which wrapped up its 13th series in March - saw Helen George's character Trixie Franklin hinting at a possible departure from Poplar to join her husband Matthew Aylward (played by Olly Rix) who has relocated to New York for work.
Meanwhile, Judy Parfitt, who has portrayed Sister Monica Joan since 2012, continues to be a staple in the BBC drama. At 88 years old, Judy boasts an impressive career that spans several decades across stage, film and television.The actress, who began her journey in 1953 after graduating from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, has earned numerous BAFTA nominations over the years and has graced some of the most popular TV series of the past few decades.
Her illustrious career kicked off in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare Company, where she shared the stage with legendary actors like Laurence Olivier.
She later received BAFTA nominations for her stellar performances in The Jewel in the Crown and Pride and Prejudice, where she played Lady Catherine de Bourgh, reports the Mirror.
