CAA Taps Former Hilton HR Boss Matthew Schuyler As Chief People Officer

Creative Artists Agency has tapped Matthew Schuyler as its new Chief People Officer overseeing the sprawling firm’s human resources, talent management and development, workforce planning, recruitment, and diversity and inclusion functions across its nearly 20 offices and 3,700 employees worldwide.

Schuyler previously led global HR teams at Hilton Worldwide, Capital One, Cisco, and PwC. He replaces Sherrie Sage Schwartz, CAA‘s Chief Human Resources Officer, who will be departing. “Matt’s tremendous experience managing global HR functions at industry-leading companies speaks to his deep understanding of what makes organizations excel, including a motivated, high-performing workforce rooted in a culture that fosters career-long growth and opportunity,” said CAA President Jim Burtson. “His significant business acumen, combined with his experience scaling teams, leveraging technology, and driving operational excellence at widely-admired service businesses aligns with CAA’s own clear mission to deliver world-class service to world-class clients.” In addition to serving as Hilton’s Worldwide chief HR executive for 11 years, Schuyler also served as the company’s chief administrative officer and chief brand officer.

During his tenure, where Hilton grew to more than 450,000 employees, the company earned the #1 ranking on Fortune’s World’s Best Workplaces list, was on Fortune’s Best Companies to Work For list in over 10 countries, and achieved the #1 ranking for diversity from DiversityInc, CAA noted.
