Brendan Rodgers admits his Celtic rebuild will need to roll on to January after the summer window left him wanting more.The Hoops boss bagged Paulo Bernardo on loan from Benfica on deadline day to ad to the late capture of Nat Phillips from Liverpool and Luis Palma from Aris.

The 50-year-old admitted he was forced to plug gaps due to injuries to Cameron Carter-Vickers, Maik Nawrocki and Reo Hatate, as well as the £25m departure of Jota and Carl Starfelt.And Rodgers – who is also set to tie down Liel Abada to a new deal – said: “I think every manager will tell you by the window they always wish they could have done more in certain aspects.
For us there was the question of can we improve the depth of the squad knowing some players were going to maybe want to move on?“Then there’s the unexpected in terms of Jota and Carl Starfelt.
