Johnny Depp
John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Box Office: Timothée Chalamet’s ‘Wonka’ Surpasses $150 Million Globally

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Timothée Chalamet’s fantasy musical “Wonka” hit a sweet box office milestone, surpassing $150 million globally.

The song-and-dance movie about the early days of the eccentric chocolatier opened to No. 1 in North America with $39 million.

It got a jump at the international box office, debuting last weekend to $43.2 million. “Wonka” collected $53.6 million overseas in its sophomore outing, bringing its foreign tally to $112.4 million and its worldwide total to $151.4 million.

Outside of the U.S. and Canada, top markets include the United Kingdom with $23.2 million to date, Mexico with $11.2 million and Germany with $8.6 million.
