EXCLUSIVE: Newcomer Dan Hough has been cast in Speak No Evil, the Blumhouse and Universal psychological horror thriller from writer/director James Watkins.
The movie, which is set to come out on Sept. 13, centers around a family invited for a weekend at an idyllic country house – a dream holiday that warps into a snarled psychological nightmare.
Pic is based on the screenplay of the Danish psychological horror thriller Gæsterne by Christian Tafdrup and Mads Tafdrup. Hough joins BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee James McAvoy (X-Men franchise, Split), Scott McNairy (Argo, Narcos: Mexico), Mackenzie Davis (Happiest Season, Tim Miller’s Terminator), Aisling Franciosi (The Nightingale), and Alix West Lefler (The Good Nurse), who were previously announced as starring.
Hough has been training with Stagecoach for the past two years, which has given him a wealth of acting opportunities. Most recently he has played Seymour in A Little Shop of Horrors; Lysander in A Midwinter’s Tale, and Kenickie in Stagecoach’s performance of Grease.
