Adele Roberts has shared the reality behind her appearance on The Great British Bake Off as she filmed the show while undergoing treatment for cancer.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ was one of the latest familiar faces to step foot in the famous tent for a celebrity special of the hit Channel 4 show.

Adele, who revealed in October 2021 that she had been given a stage two bowel cancer diagnosis, told fans that she had been receiving chemotherapy treatment while taking part in the spin-off show for Stand Up To Cancer - a joint national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

Appearing on the special on Sunday night (April 2), Adele admitted she had still been receiving treatment while filming. The show, which was filmed last year, saw the broadcaster show off her baking skills alongside Tom Daley, David Morrissey and Lucy Beaumont. "I was actually on chemo in the tent," she typed on Twitter. "I was overheating most of the time.
