Balmaghie Sacred Landscape Trust held a special church service for pets recently. Furry friends were taken along to Balmaghie Kirk for the special occasion, which was led by minister John Murdoch.

It was a great success with many folk attending and wonderful singing – both human and animal – led brilliantly by the Stewartry Wind Band under Lesley Sanderson’s Baton.

Lessons and poems were read by Michael Little, Des Hadnett, Molly Harvey, Molly McCubbin and Mac Sutton. Faith Sinclair read a poem she had composed in memory of her much loved dog.

A fine tea was served after the happy event. Most attendees were accompanied by their dogs but horses Squirrel and Charisma were also there enjoying it all.
