HE rose to fame for his role as the iconic children's character PC Plum but now looks worlds away from his policeman days. Andrew Agnew became a household name thanks to his appearances in the iconic CBeebies series Balamory set in his homeland of Scotland where he played the happy-go-lucky PC Plum.

The hit show ran from 2002 to 2005 and introduced Andrew into living rooms up and down the country thanks to it being a staple of children's television at the time.

His character patrolled the crime-free village of Balamory as he dreamed of becoming a detective one day. However, these days it isn't a police uniform he is donning for his acting roles but that of an over-the-top dress as he takes on the role of a pantomime dame.

In a nod to the show that made him a household name, he will play Nurse Bella Moray in the Kilmarnock production of Snow White.
