Bad Boys: Ride or Die is riding high! The film kicked off its opening weekend with a better-than-expected domestic opening of $56 million and $104.6 million globally, via THR.
The movie, which reunites Will Smith with Martin Lawrence for the fourth film in the movie franchise, earned an A- CinemaScore in North America and positive reviews. Keep reading to find out more… It’s also arguably the first film of the summer to come in ahead of tracking, which had projected the film to open within the $48 million to $50 million range.
The movie is also now the second biggest domestic opening of the summer season, behind Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, which debuted to $58 million domestically.
The film cost $100 million to make, and is the follow-up to Bad Boys for Life, which opened to $62 million domestically in 2020 It made $426 million at the global box office before theaters shut down amid the pandemic.
