Amy Dowden has shared a promising BBC Strictly Come Dancing update following her cancer battle, after being told earlier this year there was "no evidence of disease" following treatment.The professional dancer was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in May last year, having discovered a lump the day before jetting off to the Maldives for her honeymoon with husband Ben Jones.
Amy courageously went public with her diagnosis after a mastectomy and openly shared her experience with chemotherapy. However, her journey wasn't without challenges, as she recently disclosed that she nearly suffered organ failure due to an infection after her initial round of chemo.Despite the good news of no current evidence of disease, Amy has been informed that she won't receive the official "all clear" until five years have passed, owing to the nature of her cancer.
In a recent conversation, the 33-year-old expressed her gratitude for being given "another shot at life" one year after the discovery of the cancerous lump.
