Al Roker shares recovery update after knee surgery on ‘Today’
nypost.comappeared virtually Monday on “Today” to reveal the latest about his recovery from a recent knee replacement surgery. “It’s Monday, I’m home from the hospital,” joked Roker. “Just another day!” Roker, who underwent surgery for his knee a second time last week, said that the appendage was still “stiff.”“This one is a little more complicated because it’s what they call a revision,” explained Roker to his colleagues. “It was a replacement of a replacement, so they had to take stuff out, put stuff in, so it was a bit of a bear.”The Post reached out to Roker for comment.
The operation comes nearly six months after he was hospitalized for weeks because of blood clots and internal bleeding. Roker’s medical team discovered that the broadcast vet was suffering from two bleeding ulcers and was forced to resection his colon, remove his gallbladder and redo his duodenum in his small intestine.In 2020, Roker was also hospitalized after undergoing shoulder replacement surgery.
The TV vet told his co-workers that he has been relaxing since his most recent operation. “So we’ve just been kind of hanging out.
Chilling out, not doing anything — which I know, a lot of people find hard to believe, but in fact, that is the case,” continued Roker.
