Lewis Nelson, Labour councillor for Cadishead and Lower Irlam, was out on a litter pick when he found a Morrisons plastic bag under a pile of leaves.Inside was an empty beer bottle and a 10p crisp packet dated May 15, 1993.The councillor posted the discovery to Facebook to encourage other people not to litter.He said: “27 years ago, this crisp packet, in a Morrisons bag with an empty bottle of beer was thrown on Twelve Yards (Chat Moss) and has stayed there until this weekend half buried by years of leaves.“Let's make sure we don't leave our rubbish about for our grandchildren to have to clean up.” Speaking to the Manchester Evening News , he added: “It's surely all of our responsibility to make sure the.
