In an update, Rochdale Council has announced that plans are underway to restore the site, with a like for like rebuild. The work will commence in the new year, in January, and is expected to be completed by the Autumn.
Following the fire, workmen secured the remains of the severely-damaged building, which is thought to date back to around the time the cemetery first opened, back in 1856.
Months later, in April, the council announced they were given the go-ahead to rebuild the site in the future.
