A young woman tragically died after begging her doctor for helping her "get enough food to live" as she battled a complex illness, an inquest has heard.

Maeve Boothby-O'Neill, tragically passed away after suffering with Myalgic Encephalmyelitis (ME), aged just 27.The aspiring writer was said to have had a "complex case" of ME, also known as chronic fatigue syndrome.

The debilitating illness saw her health deteriorate to the point of being unable to eat, drink or sit up.An inquest into Maeve' s death found she pleaded with her GP for help four months before, The Mirror reports.

Maeve, from Exeter, was described as an "articulate" and "intelligent" person.The inquest is scheduled to last two weeks and will examine the care she received up until her death on October, 3 2021.
