Woman, 40, to face court after man 'suffers slash injuries' in town centre

Witnesses are being urged to come forward following an alleged assault in Oldham town centre. Officers were called out to assist the ambulance service on Yorkshire Street at around 4.20am yesterday, following reports of an assault.

GMP say a man in his 20s was taken to hospital after suffering slash injuries to his face, neck and ear. Officers have now charged a 40-year-old woman following the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 5).

Katherine Pye, of Dickens Street, Oldham, has been charged with a section 18 assault. She will appear at Tameside Magistrates Court today (Monday). Detective Sergeant Kate Dawson said: “Our investigation is far from over and, as officers continue to carry out extensive enquiries, we are still appealing to members of the public who witnessed this incident or was in the area at the time to pass any information which could assist us to share it."
