What We Do In The Shadows has become one of the most acclaimed comedies of recent years.Based on the 2014 film of the same name, which was also created by Jemaine Clement, the horror mockumentary follows a group of vampires as they navigate the modern world, with assistance from human familiar Guillermo.The show’s ensemble cast includes Kayvan Novak as Nandor, Matt Berry as Laszlo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Mark Proksch as energy vampire Colin, and Harvey Guillén as Guillermo.Since the show began in 2019, it has been nominated for 29 Emmy Awards, including nods for Outstanding Comedy Series.FX announced the show’s end in December last year.

During a panel at the Television Critics Association in February (via Screen Rant), FX chairman John Landgraf briefly stated that it was because ‘the show came to a natural conclusion’.As for the cast, Matt Berry believes it was ‘the right decision’ to end the show now.

Speaking to TV Insider, he said: “I think you should always stop when something is [still] good… and that’s what we’ve done.

I think it was the right decision.”Speaking about the show’s end, Mark Proksch said: “It’s hard to say goodbye to a good show that people appreciate, and I’m certainly going to miss the people that I got to work with, but I’m also excited about moving on and seeing what the future holds.”In the UK, seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Disney+, while the first four seasons are also on BBC iPlayer.
