With the announcement that Boris Johnson hopes to scrap all coronavirus restrictions by the end of February, you may be wondering what restrictions are still in place.

Under current coronavirus restrictions, people who develop Covid symptoms or test positive must self-isolate for 10 days - or five days following two negative lateral flow tests.

Failure to self-isolate could lead to a fine as high as £10,000 if the offence is repeated. Opening Prime Minister’s Questions, Mr Johnson said: “It is my intention to return on the first day after the half-term recess to present our strategy for living with Covid. “Provided the current encouraging trends in the data continue, it is my expectation that we will be able to end the last domestic restrictions – including the legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive – a full month early.” Other restrictions still in place include providing your address to NHS test and trace while also listing all members of your household to gauge the risk of spreading the virus to the rest of the public.
