A West Lothian dad could face shelling out £50,000 to repair his home that is riddled with RAAC. Colin Witherspoon, from Linlithgow, says the crumbling concrete is a “disaster waiting to happen” as he fears it could collapse on top of him and his partner as they sleep.
The 52-year-old bought his home on Avon Drive in a private sale 22 years after the previous owner had bought the property from West Lothian Council.

Colin said: “This is a disaster waiting to happen as it could collapse in on my partner and I as we sleep.” “Pensioners on my street have the same problem and my fear is that it could happen any day and potentially cost someone their life. “About six or seven months ago we got a letter through from the council that said they had identified RAAC in similar properties to ours.
