Welcome funding boost for Friends of Cambuslang Park charity from housebuilder

A charity in Cambuslang has received a donation of £1000 from a housebuilder working on a nearby development.Friends of Cambuslang Park, which champions the 27-acre green space and provides a wide range of activities for the local community, was awarded the funding boost by Persimmon West Scotland, who are building new homes at Castle Gardens.In 2023 alone, over 3,000 people took part in events organised by Friends of Cambuslang Park, such as weekly outdoor play sessions for children, friendly football for adults, and the popular Family Fun Day.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

These activities are vital in promoting physical activity, well-being, and social connections, especially in neighbouring areas that face socio-economic challenges.Persimmon West Scotland Managing Director, Chris Logan was joined by local elected members, Clare Haughey MSP and Cllr Norman Rae to present the cheque to the charity.The donation comes as part of Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative, which supports local charities and good causes where the company operates.
