An MP has slammed those letting off fireworks at 'all hours of the night' across Oldham and said the ongoing nuisance 'should not be tolerated'.

Furious residents in the borough have said they are 'sick to death' of the repeated loud bangs booming over their homes in the early hours of the morning, which has been ongoing for a number of months.

And those living in the Featherstall area of Oldham previously told the Manchester Evening News they’ve been dealing with an ongoing problem with fireworks for years. Jim McMahon MP for Oldham West, Chadderton and Royton has now issued a statement on the issue, pleading for those involved to stop letting off fireworks outside permitted times and saying residents 'just want to get on with their lives'. “This type of regular anti-social behaviour should not be tolerated.
