University of Bolton to reopen in September with temperature scanners and compulsory face masks

Temperature scanners at entrances, bikes for loan and compulsory face masks are among the measures to be introduced at a university when it reopens.

The University of Bolton plans to have the changes in place so it can safely welcome students and staff back to its campus in September.

Students are currently using video calls to take classes virtually and the campus is unable to reopen until the government gives the all clear.

In the meantime, bosses say work has already started on the new measures, which also include adapting workshops, laboratories and studios to ensure they meet social distancing requirements.
